Butter Chicken /Murgh Makhani

Whenever we go out for dinner,Kids love to eat Butter chicken. In restaurants usually for the Butter chicken they add the tandoori chicken to the thick gravy. There are many versions of Butter chicken but in this below Butter chicken recipe I have pan fried the boneless marinated chicken and finally they are added to a thick creamy gravy to bring the flavours out. This Butter Chicken Masala is a rich, creamy  and tasty dish. For sure will be kids favourite dish. This goes well for chapatti, Roti, Naan, Pulkas and Pulav rice. My version of Butter chicken is mild spicy and not too sweet.




Ingredients:
Chicken -500 Kg
Onion - 1 (Finely Chopped)
Tomatoes - 2( Boiled for 5 minutes in water and pureed)
Chillies -Slitted 2
Ginger - 1 tsp(finely chopped)
Garlic - - 1 tsp(finely chopped)
Chilly powder - 11/2 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Garam Masala -1tbsp
Bay leaves-3
Cardamon -2
Yogurt -2 tbsp
Butter/Oil -2 tbsp
Full cream Milk -1/2 Cup
Fresh cream - 3tbsp
Kasturi Methi -1tsp (Crushed)

Butter Chicken
                           
Preparation:

1. Marinate the chicken with 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp Chilly powder, Salt and     
    yoghurt for 20 minutes.
2. Take a pan, add 4 tbsp oil and fry the marinated chicken. If you want you can deep fry the chicken.


2. Finely chop the onions,ginger garlic
3. Boil the tomatoes and make tomato puree.

Method:

1. Take a kadai add Butter, When hot add the bay leaves,Chilli and cardamon.
2.Add the chopped onion, ginger and garlic and saute well, until the onions are well cooked    and changed to golden brown colour.


5. Now add the tomato puree,chilly powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, salt   
    and combine well.cover and cook in medium heat.



6.When oil start to leave in the sides add the fried chicken to the gravy cover and cook for 10-12 minutes or until the chickens well cooked in the gravy.


6. Now add the full cream milk and allow to boil and finally add the fresh cream and allow       to combine well. Crush the kasturi methi and allow to cook for 5 minutes in low heat.

7. When thick gravy is formed turn off the heat and garnish with coriander leaves.
8. Prefect combo for this Butter Chicken will be chapatti, naan pulav rice.




Tips:
1. Deep fried  chicken or baked chicken can also be used for this butter chicken dish.
2. Instead of milk you can substitute with yoghurt,But the taste will be different.
3. For more richness,you can soak the cashews and add the cashew nut paste.
