Quick Macaroni Recipe ( Ketchup Macaroni)

Ketchup Macaroni:-


I was too tired to prepare a proper dinner,my son was asking me to cook macaroni  so thought of preparing this quick and easy macaroni recipe,Macaroni is a type of dry pasta made with durum wheat.To make it healthier you can chop the veggies to smaller pieces and add to this dish, I have used frozen sweet corn. My kiddo loved it very much, he normally don't like to eat sweet corn but he liked it along with this macaroni dish.Very simple to cook but surely will be a big hit among kids.





Ingredients:

Macaroni : 1 cup
Any vegetable: 1 cup ( You can use any vegetables  of your choice,I have used 1 cup of frozen sweet corn).
Tomato Ketchup: 3 tbsp
Chilli Sauce: 1tbsp
Garlic: 10 nos( Finely chopped)
Ginger : 1'( Cut into thin slices)
Spring onion or coriander leaves:1stalk ( Finely Chopped)
Pepper:1/2 tsp
Olive Oil / Cooking oil : 3 tbsp
Salt to taste

Method:


1. Boil water in a vessel and add the macaroni, Follow package instructions to cook the macaroni and reserve some stock.


 2. Add olive oil/Cooking oil in a kadai and add the chopped garlic,ginger and green chillies and saute for 2 minutes after-which add the onions and sweet corn and toss well for 5 minutes.

3.Now add the macaroni, little stock, salt and combine well, then add the tomato ketchup,chilli sauce and stir well.

4. Finally add the pepper and spring onions. Simple and easy macaroni is ready.


Tips:
1. You can use dried sweet basil leaves or any Italian herbs for extra flavours.
2. Olive oil has a distinctive taste, I prefer using olive oil to my pasta recipes, you can use any cooking oil also.
3.If you don't prefer using tomato ketchup, Boil the tomatoes and make your own tomato puree,then add chilli powder, sugar and salt, but the taste might be different.
4. Be cautious when adding salt, because ketchup and chilli sauce will have salt and when cooking the macaroni you will be adding salt.
